Escape to AFRICA

 Sarojini got married to Sivadas in the early 70s.within five years they were blessed with two children, elder one Abhilash a boy and younger one Abhirami a girl.Their house was located just 3 km away from the town.Sivadas was a high school teacher and Sarojini a home maker.Sarojini used to do embroidery and paintings.Their children were sent to the convent school separately to boy's and girl's convent.Both of them were very good at their studies.Abhirami gradually became strikingly beautiful and good performer of dance and music.While Abhilash was interested in science subjects Abhirami's passion was for English and Social science.

  Abhilash took Physics as his main subject for graduation while Abhirami was studying History and Economics for Pre Degree course.Both were very bright students.After Bsc physics couse with out anydelay he was selected as Air traffic controller by the Indian Navy with initial posting at Kochi.Sivadas' family  were very much excited . Abhirami after completing BA in economics from the women's College with University 2 nd rank got her admission for PG in Development Economics in the university department.The Department was having 5 faculty members 4 males and one lady headed by Dr PD Haridas an authority in development studies.Abhirami stood first in the MA previous course.Department undertook a study tour to Delhi and faculty and students actively participated visiting major institutions including Delhi University JNU,DSE.IEG,ICSSR and Planning Commission.Throughout the tour program Dr Haridas had been very supportive and affectionate to all and Abhirami even compared him in her mind with that of her most affectionate paternal uncle who expired one year back in an accident.

Abhirami was very happy to know that for the final year project work along with 2 others she was assigned to the head himself.Within the time frame for her project she had collected data from women agricultural workers and very skillfully analysed and presented it.Eventhough HOD had approved the project to her astonishment he was not signing it under some pretext  or other he was postponing it.Since all other students including the other two under HOD had already submitted the project Abhirami became much tensed and again she approached Dr Haridas he told "no problem you come tomorrow morning at 915" That was a Saturday when she reached there by 855 HOD had already arrived and only one sanitary worker was present in the department. When he saw her he called Abhirami to bring the project reports to the room.When she entered the room, for the first time quite shockingly she felt smell of alcohol in HOD's room.She became very alert.He took the project copies from her and started signing it.To her surprise she found that instead of discussing subject he was narrating about love and romance.After signing the project copies one copy fell on the floor (whether deliberate or accidently)He ordered her to pick it up.While she was kneeling to pick it up to her utter disgust she realised that sir was seated exposing his private parts.He was about catch hold of her but screaming aloud she rushed out of the room in that commotion computer fell down.Hearing the noise sanitary assistant  rushed to the place.Mean time few students  office staff and faculty members also came. Abhirami gathered courage and narrated what had happened.Students became very agitated hearing the commotion local people also joined with the students and were about to beat the professor.Fortunately other faculty members intervened and temporarily pacified the students.During night two faculty members accompanied Haridas to the railway station and saw that he safely boarded the train bound for Trivandrum.

    Students vigorously continued their agitation demanding his dismissal and posting of a substitute .Vice Chancellor discussed the matter with him and instructed him to go on long leave , he can delay taking action,otherwise if he comes back situation would worsen.One of Harida's relative was working in a senior academic position in the university of a land locked country of Southern Africa.He called him and narrated his precarious position and pleaded for a job.After thorough enquiry he called back and told that right now there is no faculty position available vacant any way for the time being we will accommodate you in any project.within few days Haridas managed to escape to Gaborone Africa,but probably because of the curse of Abhirami his position has been scaled down to a project associate from Head of Department of a university at least temporarily.

Now a days this type of things are heard quite often. Wolves are everywhere. No mercy should be shown to such animals.
